~The unspoken rule; follow the Terms of Service of Proboards and don't act like a jerk. Follow the golden rule and everyone will get along.
~You may take two characters; one doctor and one patient.
~There will be random events throughout the roleplay; random patients may be chosen by Vaughn to be experimented on and everyone is vulnerable to Insanity. YOU DO NOT HAVE A CHOICE IN THIS. If you are chosen, you can NOT get out of it. That is the point of this roleplay.
~If you are experimented on, you will receive a PM detailing what Vaughn did, how long your character was absent, and what the after-effects are.
~Insanity is a voice your character hears in his or her head. It is not a physical being; it is not tactile in any way. It is, however, very persuasive. Only in EXTREME CASES will it have the power to control your character's body. That said, depending on the severity of your character's mental disorders, they may have tactile hallucinations of it and it doesn't look or act the same for everyone.
~At first, characters may only interact with other characters in their group and their doctor, as they will be confined to certain places. Only characters with express permission may interact with other people, unless there is an asylum-wide event.
~The doctors don't know what Vaughn is doing at first. There will be clues left for certain doctors and eventually they will all know what Vaughn is up to, but this will take time.
~Remember, doctors: your patients have been deemed insane. So if they explain the horrors they've faced at Vaughn's hands, it would be wise not to take them at their word.
~There is no connection to the outside world; Vaughn has made sure of that.
~Be creative in your character's diagnosis; not everyone can be schizophrenic or have multiple personality disorders. I will limit disorders if necessary on a first come-first served basis.
~Doctors are assigned three patients. These three patients may only interact with each other and their doctor until they are given access to other parts of the asylum.
~Patients don't have to ACTUALLY be insane to be admitted; the asylum admits "criminally insane" patients also. Vaughn has pulled strings in order to obtain patients who have committed crimes but have not been diagnosed with a disorder.
~Please, no OC's. If most of the characters are taken, I will consider changing this rule, but for now, please stick to canon. In addition to this, please no genderbent characters.
~I may request an rp sample after you have completed your profile. You will receive a PM from me if it is necessary.
